Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Class Size Teacher Assistant to support students in priority schools. Under the supervision of teaching staff, you will assist with instructional activities, supervision during lunch and playground times, and help maintain a positive classroom environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and a valid ISBE paraprofessional license. You will help prepare materials, tutor students, and collaborate with teachers to ensure student success within CPS

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or GED) is required.
• Must possess a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (60 college hours or Work Keys/ParaPro).
• Ability to assist with classroom activities, tutoring, and basic clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising students during lunch and play.
• Help teachers with classroom activities and bulletin boards.
• Operate audiovisual equipment and reproduce educational materials.
• Collect attendance and contact parents as needed.
• Provide tutoring under teacher supervision and grade simple assignments.
