Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is hiring a Class Size Teacher Assistant to support instruction in Priority Schools under the supervision of a licensed teacher and school leadership. You will assist in classroom tasks, supervise students in lunchrooms and hallways, and help with materials and equipment needed for lessons.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (or GED) and ISBE paraprofessional licensure (TASN) or equivalent exam. Chicago residency is required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a valid paraprofessional license (TASN) from ISBE or complete/paraprofessional exam (Work Keys or Parapro).
• Good knowledge of English grammar and basic mathematics; able to communicate effectively with the public.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch and playground activities.
• Assist in understanding and completing classroom assignments.
• Help teachers prepare bulletin boards and display student work.
