Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks Class Size Teacher Assistant positions allocated by JCSAC to help reduce oversized classes in Priority Schools. Under the principal and classroom teacher supervision, you assist in instruction and related duties as required.

Responsibilities include supervising lunchrooms and classrooms, assisting with assignments and grading, greeting visitors, and supporting AV equipment use. A high school diploma or GED and ISBE paraprofessional license are required.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of proper English grammar and spelling.
• Ability to work with and for school-aged children, follow instructions, operate basic office equipment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with the public.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunchroom and playground activities.
• Provide security functions within the school (hallways, ID checks).
• Assist students in understanding and completing classroom assignments.
• Help teachers prepare bulletin boards and display student work.
