Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Joint Class Size Assessment Council (JCSAC) paraprofessional to assist in instructional activities and student supervision within Priority Schools. The role supports teachers, helps with classroom logistics, and contributes to a safe, orderly learning environment.

The position requires a high school diploma and a valid ISBE paraprofessional license or eligibility to obtain one after coursework.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or G.E.D. equivalent).
• Valid Paraprofessional license (ISBE) or eligible to obtain after coursework.
• Experience assisting teachers and supervising students is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunchroom and playground activities.
• Provide security functions by monitoring corridors and reviewing student IDs.
• Assist students in understanding and completing classroom assignments and activities.
• Help teachers prepare bulletin boards and display student work in classrooms.
• Operate classroom equipment and educational materials as directed by teachers.
• Collect and grade daily homework and assessments under supervision.
