Job summary

The University of Maryland, College Park, seeks an IT/AV support specialist to manage classroom technology in Smith School spaces. The role focuses on programming and deploying AV systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting instructional technology in general purpose classrooms.

You will work with Crestron and related hardware, collaborate with Classroom Technology staff, and help test new technologies while maintaining dependable user support and service quality in a dynamic academic

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) year of professional administrative, coordinator, or information technology experience.
  • Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Classroom Technology staff responsible for classroom design and deployment of technologies to program and deploy AV systems in General Purpose Classrooms.
  • Reviews requirements and assists with the design of classroom AV systems.
  • Performs tests and pilots of viable technologies.
  • Troubleshoots existing AV programs to restore system functionality.
  • Programs Crestron control processors, touch panels, routers, audio DSPs and other peripherals to support instructional technology classrooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
