Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a Class Size Teacher Assistant to support instruction and classroom management in Priority Schools. The role assists teachers, supervises students, and helps prepare instructional materials under supervision.

Strong communication and basic math skills are important, along with adherence to CPS policies. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid ISBE TASN paraprofessional license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or G.E.D. equivalent).
• Valid TASN paraprofessional license from ISBE required.
• Ability to work with school-aged children and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising students during lunch and playground activities.
• Provide security functions within the school and monitor corridors.
• Assist students with understanding and completing assignments.
• Assist teachers with bulletin boards and displaying student work.
• Operate audiovisual equipment and classroom aids.
