Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Class Size Teacher Assistant to support oversized classrooms in Priority Schools. You will assist in instructional activities under a licensed teacher and support daily classroom operations.

Responsibilities include supervising students, aiding teachers with materials, and assisting with student assessments while adhering to CPS policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or GED) is required.
• Must possess a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (60 college hours or Parapro/Work Keys).
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to interact with students and the public.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunchroom and playground activities.
• Provide security functions within the school (monitor corridors, ID checks).
• Assist students with understanding and completing assignments.
• Help teachers prepare bulletin boards and display student work.
