Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Class Size Teacher Assistant to support oversized classrooms in Priority Schools. You will assist in instruction, supervise students, and help teachers with classroom tasks under supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid ISBE paraprofessional license. The role requires strong English skills and ability to work with children, with a comprehensive benefits package offered by CPS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school (or GED).
• Must possess a valid ISBE paraprofessional license (60 college credits or Work Keys/ParaPro).
• Strong English grammar, spelling and basic math knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch and playground activities.
• Provide security functions by monitoring corridors and ID checks.
• Assist students with classroom assignments and tutoring.
• Help teachers prepare bulletin boards and display student work.
• Operate educational copying and audiovisual equipment.
• Assist with loading/unloading students on school buses.
• Collect attendance and contact parents/guardians regarding absences.
