Job summary

Erie Insurance’s Canton Branch Office is seeking a Casualty Claims professional to settle first party automobile, third party liability automobile and property claims within authority. The role involves direct contact with policyholders and claimants, verifying coverages, reserves, and issuing payments using Erie’s approved methods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of related claims handling or customer service experience; or equivalent education.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Pursuit of general insurance education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Processes first party automobile, third party liability automobile and low severity property claims within limits of authority.
• Contacts policyholders and/or claimants, verifies coverage, sets reserves, processes payments, and settles claims.
• Establishes contact with all parties involved in the claim per ERIE’s expectations.
• Handles inquiries from policyholders, agents, insurance carriers, claimants and others.
• Enters loss information into claims system and reviews pending claims regularly.
• Provides support for property claims during heavy volume.
