Society Insurance in Fond du Lac, WI, seeks an experienced Claims Manager to lead a Workers Compensation claims team and drive quality outcomes for policyholders, injured workers, and partners. The role oversees staff development, process improvements, and cross-department collaboration to ensure compliant, effective claim handling.

The role requires 10 years of direct WC claims handling (or 14 years multi-line with supervisory experience), licensing readiness, and a proven leadership track

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 10+ years of experience in direct handling of complex workers’ compensation claims in IL, IN, CO, MN, WI, or TX – OR – 14 years of experience in multi-line claims including direct field claims losses, coverage analysis, litigation management, and substantial claims supervisory experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain proper licensing prior to handling a state where Society requires it.
• Proven record of exemplary performance in direct handling of losses and claims supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensures timely completion, analysis, and reporting of quality reviews and mentoring of claims staff.
• Manages team on file handling, engagement, growth in claims knowledge, and career development.
• Assists the Director of Claims in selection, orientation, training, and development of claims staff.
• Analyzes workflows for compliance and implements recommendations with technical team.
• Oversees claims support operations and enforces productivity standards.
• Provides oversight on damages, coverage, and liability issues, ensuring compliance with laws.
• Develops training programs and identifies expert speakers for the department.
• Focuses on continuous improvement to streamline processes.
• Acts as SME and collaborates with Underwriting, Risk Control, and Marketing on claims trends.
• Maintains professional knowledge through continuing education and travel as needed.
