Job summary

Markel Group in Alpharetta, GA is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to resolve moderate complexity claims across jurisdictions. The role requires licensure and 5+ years of claims handling, with authority to make reserve decisions.

You will review policies for coverage, analyze liability and damages, and communicate positions with insureds, mediations when needed, while delivering professional customer service and supporting team objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Adjuster’s license or legal license in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of claims handling experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Handles claims in all jurisdictions.
• Handles litigated and non-litigated property damage claims with values up to $250,000.
• Handles non-litigated bodily injury claims with values up to $250,000 in all jurisdictions.
• Confirms coverage by reviewing policies and documents submitted in support of claims.
• Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions.
• Drafts coverage position letters.
• Identifies losses which should be reported to SIU.
• Conducts, coordinates, and directs investigation into loss facts and extent of damages.
• Evaluates information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of insured's exposure.
• Sets reserves within authority or makes recommendations concerning reserve changes to manager.
• Participates in special projects or assists other team members as requested.
• Represents Markel in mediations, as required.
• Provides excellent and professional customer service to insureds while maintaining a high level of production.
