Job summary

American Amicable, part of iA Financial Group, seeks a Claims Analyst in Waco, TX to support policyholders, beneficiaries, agents, and funeral homes through the life insurance claims process, ensuring timely and accurate claim decisions.

You will review coverage, gather information, calculate benefits, and communicate by phone, email, and written correspondence, requiring attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years of claims experience (life claims preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Process and pay life insurance claims by reviewing coverage and calculating benefit payments
• Research beneficiaries, medical records, legal documents, and other information for claim decisions
• Prepare correspondence, update claims systems, and maintain accurate claim files
• Communicate with policyholders, agents, funeral homes, and others to resolve claims
• Process reinsurance claims and support special projects and departmental needs
• Assist with overflow work and cross-train with other Analysts to support team operations
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies

As a Claims Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting policyholders, beneficiaries, agents, and funeral homes through the life insurance claims process while ensuring timely and accurate claim decisions. What you'll accomplish with us

• Process and pay life insurance claims by reviewing coverage, gathering required information, and calculating benefit payments.
• Research beneficiaries, medical records, legal documents, and other information needed to make claim decisions.
• Prepare correspondence, update claims systems, and maintain accurate claim files and documentation.
• Communicate with policyholders, agents, funeral homes, and other stakeholders by phone, email, and written correspondence to ensure successful claim resolution.
• Process reinsurance claims, maintain tax reporting information, monitor suspense accounts, and support special projects and departmental needs.
• Assist with overflow work and cross‑train with other Claims Analysts to support team operations.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.

• Intermediate level of English proficiency, as the role involves communicating with policyholders, beneficiaries, agents, funeral homes, medical providers, and internal business partners through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence on a daily basis.
