Job summary

iA American Warranty, L.P. is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support the Legal Department in a hybrid, collaborative environment.

You will handle corporate and regulatory matters, review agreements, and coordinate with internal and external counsel to meet filing and discovery requirements. The role emphasizes strong legal research and writing, meticulous document management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering quality work.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
• Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field (Paralegal certification is a plus)

Responsibilities

• Support VP Chief Legal Counsel on corporate and compliance matters
• Review routine legal agreements and pleadings
• Coordinate with internal and external counsel on discovery and litigation calendars
• Conduct factual and legal research, including case law and statutes
• Assist with regulatory and licensing matters
• Organize and maintain case files and department records
• Support legal review of agreements under the direction of the Legal team
• Respond to internal inquiries regarding contracts and policies
• Perform scheduling, billing, and record-keeping tasks
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, insurers, and regulators
• Ensure consistency between the legal department and business partners

What You’ll Accomplish With Us

As a Paralegal, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

• Provide support to the VP–Chief Legal Counsel on corporate and compliance matters
• Review routine legal agreements and pleadings
• Coordinate with internal and external counsel on discovery, document collection, and litigation calendaring
• Conduct factual and legal research, including case law, statutes, and regulatory analysis
• Assist with regulatory and licensing matters
• Organize and maintain case files, legal documents, and department records
• Support legal review of agreements under the direction of the Legal team
• Respond to internal inquiries regarding contracts, policies, and other legal issues
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, expense oversight, filing, and record‑keeping
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, insurers, and regulators
• Ensure consistency between the legal department and business partners
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the legal department

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is known for their strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
• Stands out for their excellent legal research and writing skills
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and critical thinking
• Is recognized for their ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
• Has 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, ideally with a focus on regulatory compliance and/or contract review
• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field (Paralegal certification is a plus)
• Is proficient with MS Office and legal research databases, and can quickly learn new systems
• Shows excellent organization, record‑keeping, and prioritization skills
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Adapts well to procedural and organizational changes
• Brings a positive, learning‑oriented attitude and takes initiative in their work
• Is able to work overtime as business needs require
