Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Civil Intern (Highway/Roadway) for the summer of 2026 to contribute to highway and roadway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation. The internship will be based in our Kansas offices with mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to project sites.

Work alongside Transportation and Highway Design Professionals and gain hands-on experience in engineering design software, construction documentation, and collaborative project delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in highway, roadway, or transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling experience a plus, but not required)
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Organizational skills to handle multiple assignments efficiently
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from project sites
