Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Civil Engineering intern for the summer of 2026 to assist in roadway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, you will work with senior Transportation and Highway Design Professionals and gain hands-on experience with design software and construction documentation.

You will collaborate on projects across the country and develop skills through mentorship, real project exposure, and team-based delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D (Geopak or 3D Modeling experience a plus, but not required)
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Organizational skills to handle multiple assignments efficiently
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from project sites

Responsibilities

• Work alongside an experienced Transportation and Highway Design Professionals team dedicated to improving roadway and highway infrastructure.
• As a Roadway and Highway Design intern during the summer of 2026, you will contribute to engineering projects that involve highway and roadway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation.
• You will gain valuable hands‑on experience in engineering design software, construction documentation, and collaborative project delivery.
