Job summary

DEPCOM Power in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a Subcontract Manager - Civil to lead civil subcontracting across our portfolio, from scope development to award and change management. This role partners with project managers and engineering to ensure robust contracts and competitive bids.

You will develop scopes, evaluate bids, negotiate terms, build long-term subcontractor relationships, and monitor performance. A background in civil construction and EPC experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction with a civil contractor, EPC, or construction management at an EPC.
• Experience negotiating terms, pricing or change orders with contractors or suppliers.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience developing or evaluating civil scopes of work and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate civil scopes of work and identify gaps before award.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids, pricing and execution capability, and provide award recommendations.
• Lead commercial negotiations with civil subcontractors on scope, terms, pricing and change orders.
• Own and develop DEPCOM's relationships with civil subcontractors across the portfolio.
• Identify and qualify new civil contractors and maintain a capable partner base.
• Monitor work concentration across the civil partner base.
• Support Project Management on subcontract vs self-perform strategy.
• Provide market intelligence on civil contractor capability, capacity and pricing.
• Escalate higher-risk commercial and contractual matters to the Director of Subcontracts.
