Job summary

DEPCOM Power seeks a Subcontract Manager - Mechanical to lead mechanical subcontracting across our portfolio in Scottsdale, AZ. You will manage scope, bids, negotiations, and change orders, while building strong relationships with mechanical subcontractors.

Responsibilities include evaluating bids, negotiating terms, and coordinating with Project Management to align strategies with project estimates. This role advances DEPCOM's procurement, engineering and construction goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical or solar installation construction.
• Experience negotiating commercial terms with contractors.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience developing or evaluating scopes of work and pricing for mechanical construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate mechanical scopes of work and identify gaps before award.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids, pricing and execution capability, and provide award recommendations.
• Lead commercial negotiations with mechanical subcontractors on scope, terms, pricing and change orders.
• Own and develop DEPCOM's relationships with mechanical subcontractors, serving as their primary contact across the portfolio.
• Identify and qualify new mechanical contractors and maintain a capable partner base.
• Monitor work concentration across the mechanical partner base.
• Support Project Management on subcontract vs. self-perform strategy.
• Provide market intelligence on mechanical contractor capability, capacity and pricing.
• Escalate higher-risk commercial and contractual matters to the Director of Subcontracts.
