Job summary

Alpine, an ITW Company, located in Richmond, VA, seeks an Engineering Team Lead to guide a team of engineers and designers. You will oversee workload planning, reviews of complex truss designs, and on-site customer engagements to resolve structural challenges.

You will collaborate across sales, engineering, and software teams, ensuring quality, safety, and code compliance while driving continuous improvement and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on statics and material mechanics.
• Five+ years of engineering experience; Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification required.
• Experience with truss engineering or drafting for building components preferred.
• Working knowledge of TPI, NDS, ASCE-7, and other applicable codes and design standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of engineers and designers while fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Prioritize, assign, and manage incoming work to meet customer deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
• Review and guide complex truss designs, ensuring solutions are safe, code-compliant, and practical.
• Provide technical support, consult on design challenges, and conduct site visits to resolve structural issues and strengthen customer relationships.
• Cross-functional collaboration with sales, technical teams, and software development to improve tools and workflows.
• Champion engineering standards, deliver training, and drive process improvements to enhance consistency and performance.
