Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Site Lead, Power Delivery to support Transmission and Substation projects within our Energy group. The role offers remote work flexibility and placement across multiple Energy offices nationwide.

You will lead site civil efforts, supervise earthworks, drainage, grading and foundations, and coordinate with electrical teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery. Strong leadership, PE licensure, and 6+ years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Professional Engineering license (P.E.).
• Experience with site grading, drainage, roads, earthworks, and substation layout development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for civil design and detailing.
• Understanding of substation site planning and integration with electrical layouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all civil work at substation and transmission line sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and construction schedules.
• Create and supervise earthwork, grading, drainage systems, access roads, cable trenches and foundations for substations and transmission lines.
• Review, interpret and create civil design drawings, reports and provide practical solutions.
• Coordinate site surveys (geotechnical, LIDAR) to assist with routes and layouts.
• Review and approve civil construction methodologies, work plans and method statements.
• Identify and mitigate site issues by providing timely technical support.
• Coordinate with electrical teams to resolve interface and constructability issues.
• Develop professional relationships with clients and provide technical leadership to site civil engineers.
