Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Site Lead for Power Delivery to support transmission and substation projects in the Energy line. The role offers hybrid work and opportunities across multiple US offices, with a focus on civil site work within electrical transmission and distribution projects.

The candidate will lead civil disciplines, develop earthwork and drainage designs, review technical drawings, and collaborate with electrical, planning, and project teams to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineering license (P.E.).
• Proven experience with site grading, drainage, roads, earthworks, and substation layout development and transmission access/alignment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for civil design and detailing.
• Understanding of substation site planning, transmission/substation access requirements, and integration with electrical layouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all civil work at substation and transmission line sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and construction schedules.
• Create and supervise earthwork, grading, drainage systems, access roads, cable trenches and foundations for substations and transmission lines.
• Review, interpret and create civil design drawings, technical documents, report discrepancies and provide practical solutions.
• Manage site surveys to include geotechnical and ground/LIDAR for transmission line routes and substation layouts.
• Review and approve civil construction methodologies, work plans and method statements submitted by contractors.
• Identify and mitigate site issues by providing timely technical support and coordinating with other disciplines.
