Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Site Lead, Power Delivery with a focus on transmission and substation projects to support our Energy Business Line. The role offers remote work flexibility and placement across multiple Energy offices in the United States.

The candidate will lead civil work, review drawings, manage surveys, and coordinate with electrical teams to ensure safe, on-schedule delivery of projects. A PE license and 6+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineering license (P.E.).
• Proven experience with site grading, drainage, roads, earthworks, and substation layout development and transmission access/alignment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for civil design and detailing.
• Understanding of substation site planning, transmission/substation access requirements, and integration with electrical layouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all civil work at substation and transmission line sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and construction schedules.
• Create and supervise earthwork, grading, drainage systems, access roads, cable trenches and foundations for substations and transmission lines.
• Review, interpret and create civil design drawings, report discrepancies and provide practical solutions.
• Manage site surveys including geotechnical and ground/LIDAR for transmission line routes and substation layouts.
• Review and approve civil construction methodologies, work plans and method statements submitted by contractors.
• Identify and mitigate site issues by providing timely technical support.
