Thomas & Hutton in Charlotte, NC is seeking a civil engineer to lead large-scale site development projects for mission-critical clients across the Southeast. You’ll guide multi-phase designs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and directly engage with clients to deliver innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 6+ years of experience, and a PE license is preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong communication are essential to manage scope,

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 6+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• Experience producing site design plans for large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil site development and utilities.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal client-facing communication.
• Proven leadership and multi-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale, multi-phase civil site development projects for mission critical clients
• Prepare and oversee development of construction drawings for site grading, water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure
• Lead project teams to deliver design solutions meeting scope, schedule, and quality objectives
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in client meetings and provide technical guidance and project updates
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design development and project execution
• Monitor project performance including scope, schedule, and budget
• Support proposal development and contribute to project planning efforts
