Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead large-scale, multi-phase site development projects in the Southeast. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, produce site design drawings, and guide projects from concept through execution.

The role emphasizes client-facing communication, leadership in project teams, and delivering design solutions that meet scope, schedule, and budget goals. On-site work and a collaborative, growth-oriented environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 6+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• Experience producing site design plans for large multi-phase projects.
• Understanding of civil site development incl. grading and utilities.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a client-facing focus.
• Strong leadership and team-work abilities.
• Knowledge of business metrics for project success.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and deadlines discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale, multi-phase civil site development projects for mission critical clients.
• Prepare and oversee the development of construction drawings for site grading, water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.
• Lead project teams to deliver design solutions that meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in client meetings and provide technical guidance and project updates.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to support design development and project execution.
• Monitor project performance including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support proposal development and contribute to project planning efforts.
