Job summary

YB Excavation, a division of The Yard Butler, is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager / Estimator in Idaho Falls, ID. This leadership role oversees estimating, bidding, and project execution for civil construction, earthwork, site development, and underground utilities.

The position combines office work with field collaboration. 5+ years in civil construction preferred; salary ranges from $85,000 to $130,000 per year, with benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in civil construction, excavation, heavy civil, underground utilities, site development, project management, estimating or related field.
• Proven experience estimating and/or managing civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of earthwork, excavation, grading, site development, underground utilities, trucking, materials and heavy equipment operations.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, contracts, drawings and bid docs to determine scope and requirements.
• Develop detailed estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, disposal, and costs.
• Evaluate production rates, equipment needs, project duration, site conditions and risks.
• Prepare competitive proposals while maintaining company margins and profitability.
• Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, field crews, and suppliers to ensure successful execution.
• Manage awarded projects from preconstruction through closeout and ongoing reporting.
