Civil Project Engineer / Project Manager – Land Development

About the role

Recruiting for a Houston-based civil engineering firm that is looking to add a Civil Project Engineer or Project Manager to their land development team. This role is suitable for someone with strong site/civil design experience who seeks more project ownership, client coordination, and leadership. The work focuses on land development and site development projects across the Houston market, including commercial, residential, mixed‑use, municipal, and private development.

The team welcomes a strong Project Engineer who is ready to grow or a current Project Manager who can lead projects and support junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Work on site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, detention, paving, and stormwater design
• Prepare civil construction plans, reports, cost estimates, and permitting packages
• Coordinate with clients, architects, municipalities, and internal design teams
• Support projects from early design through final approval and construction support
• Mentor EITs and designers based on experience level

Qualifications

• 4+ years of civil/site development or land development experience
• PE license preferred; strong EITs will also be considered
• Experience with drainage, detention, utilities, grading, permitting, or site design
• Houston‑area project experience is beneficial but not required
• Strong communication skills and interest in growing with a local civil team
