Job summary

Roc Search is seeking a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager in Houston, TX to join a civil engineering consulting firm’s Public Works team. The role targets professionals with 3–6 years of Civil Engineering experience, including EIT or PE licensure status and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will work on municipal infrastructure projects across Houston, advancing toward project ownership while collaborating with an experienced leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Approximately 3-6 years of Civil Engineering experience.
  • Experience on Public Works, Municipal Infrastructure, Transportation, Roadway, Water, Wastewater, Drainage, Utility, or Land Development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare construction plans for Public Works and municipal infrastructure projects
  • Perform engineering calculations, technical analyses, and cost estimates
  • Design roadway, drainage, storm sewer, water distribution, wastewater collection, and site development improvements
  • Coordinate with municipalities, utility agencies, regulatory agencies, and clients
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and overall project delivery
  • Support permitting, agency coordination, and technical documentation
  • Conduct site visits and assist during construction phases
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Designers, and other Civil Engineers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

About the Opportunity

I'm working with a well-established civil engineering consulting firm in the Houston area that is looking to add a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to their growing Public Works team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 3-6 years of civil engineering experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. Whether you're an experienced EIT preparing for your PE or a newly licensed Professional Engineer, this role offers the chance to take on more project ownership while working alongside an experienced leadership team.

You’ll be involved in a variety of municipal infrastructure projects throughout the Houston area, including roadway, drainage, water distribution, wastewater collection, utility improvements, and site development.
