Job summary

Branch Builds, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee all engineering and technical aspects of projects in the North Carolina region. The role emphasizes organizing, planning, budgeting, scheduling, and closeout, reporting to the Project Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering background (Bachelor’s) with strong cost control, documentation, and coordination skills for site construction. Travel across the Northern Carolina region is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Master’s Degree in engineering/Construction and two years of experience in heavy civil NCDOT/large site construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure, forecast and report project cost and revenue.
• Review drawings, specs, and contract documents for accuracy.
• Assist PM in defining budget and cost codes.
• Prepare budget adjustments for PM review before work start.
• Ensure permits are acquired as required.
• Maintain RFIs, Change Orders, and Submittals logs.
• Support quality control and ensure correct materials are used.
• Draft and submit Change Orders and RFIs with PM approval.
• Review subcontractor invoices for PM final approval.
• Review end-of-month billings and reportings.
• Develop and communicate effective site plans with the superintendent.
• Monitor work to ensure means and methods are followed.
• Maintain and update project schedule for PM review.
• Promote Branch Safety culture and best practices.
• Assist with pre-punch walk-throughs and close-out processes.
