Job summary

Branch Civil is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee engineering and technical aspects of projects, reporting to the Project Manager. You will support safety, documentation, plans/specifications, scheduling, budgeting, and project closeout, coordinating with field staff and subcontractors.

The role emphasizes organization, planning, and quality, with extensive travel in the Northern Carolina region and a full-time on-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred with two years of heavy civil NCDOT/large site construction experience.
• Experience with budgeting, cost control and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Measure, report and forecast accurate cost and revenue dollars and quantities.
• Review contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Assist PM in defining project budget and cost codes.
• Prepare initial budget adjustments for PM review.
• Maintain and update logs (RFI, Change Order, Submittal).
• Develop and communicate an effective plan with the superintendent.
• Monitor work to ensure means and methods are followed.
