Job summary

Branch Builds, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to manage engineering and technical aspects of projects with strong planning focus. You will report to the Project Manager and support safety, documentation, plans, scheduling and budgeting, including closeout.

The role involves cost forecasting, draft change orders, RFIs, and ensuring materials and subcontractors meet project requirements. Extensive field coordination and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Master’s Degree in engineering/Construction and two years of experience in heavy civil NCDOT/large site construction

Responsibilities

• Measure, report and forecast accurate cost and revenue dollars and quantities.
• Fully review contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Assist PM in defining project budget and cost codes.
• Prepare initial budget adjustments for PM review prior to start of work.
• Ensure the acquisition of permits, through appropriate channels, as required.
• Maintain and update RFI Log, Change Order Log, and Submittal Log.
• Maintain and update the Materials Book – C25s/Certs/Etc.
• Support quality control/ensures approved materials are being used.
• Draft and submit Change Orders per PM approval.
• Draft and submit RFIs per PM approval.
• First level approval of subcontractor invoices for PM final approval.

Education
