Job summary

Parkhill is seeking a Civil Engineering student to support engineers and project teams under supervision. This part-time, hourly position involves assisting with design calculations, data collection, and preparing materials for permits and proposals.

Candidates should be enrolled in Civil Engineering or related discipline at an accredited institution. Proficiency with CAD and related software/hardware tools is expected as part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Student status in Civil Engineering or an appropriate related discipline at an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Assists with checking engineering calculations.
• Assists with fundamental project tasks such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
• Assists in preparing marketing proposals.
• Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assists in maintaining the technical library.
• Performs routine filing and delivery of documents.
• Proficient in the use of computers, computer aided design and other relevant software and hardware tools.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Overview

Under close supervision, performs routine tasks requiring knowledge offundamental engineering, mathematical and construction concepts.Provides support to engineers, CADD supervisor, or project team in thepreparation of graphic materials, design sketches, study materials andpermit applications. This is a part-time, non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.
