Job summary

Parkhill is seeking a part-time engineering support assistant in Texas to aid project teams with basic tasks under close supervision. You will assist with drawings, data collection, and documentation as you gain exposure to civil engineering concepts.

Ideal candidates are university students pursuing Civil Engineering who want hands-on experience in a collaborative environment and who are eager to learn CAD workflows and project support processes.

Qualifications

• Student status in Civil Engineering or an appropriate related discipline is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Assists with checking engineering calculations.
• Assists with fundamental project tasks such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
• Assists in preparing marketing proposals.
• Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assists in maintaining the technical library.
• Performs routine filing and delivery of documents.
• Proficient in the use of computers, computer aided design and other relevant software and hardware tools.

Under close supervision, performs routine tasks requiring knowledge offundamental engineering, mathematical and construction concepts.Provides support to engineers, CADD supervisor, or project team in thepreparation of graphic materials, design sketches, study materials andpermit applications. This is a part-time, non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.
