Job summary

Parkhill is seeking a part-time, non-exempt intern to support engineers and the project team. The incumbent will assist with design calculations, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates and preparing marketing proposals under supervision.

Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest with 14 offices across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The position emphasizes field data collection and library maintenance while developing core technical skills.

Qualifications

• Student status in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Enrolled at an accredited college or university.
• Able to work part-time, on-site in Frisco, TX.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Assists with checking engineering calculations.
• Assists with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
• Assists in preparing marketing proposals.
• Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assists in maintaining the technical library.
• Proficient in the use of computers, CAD and other relevant software/hardware tools.
• Other duties may be assigned.
