Job summary

Parkhill is seeking a part-time, non-exempt student in Civil Engineering to support engineers and the project team. The role involves assisting with design calculations, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and preparing marketing proposals, with tasks extending to field data collection and document control.

Proficiency in CAD and related software is expected, and flexibility for additional duties may be required as projects evolve. This is an hourly, student position located in Arlington, TX.

Qualifications

• Student status in Civil Engineering or an appropriate related discipline at an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Assists with checking engineering calculations.
• Assists with fundamental project tasks such as quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and basic design calculations.
• Assists in preparing marketing proposals.
• Assists in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assists in maintaining the technical library.
• Performs routine filing and delivery of documents.
• Proficient in the use of computers, computer aided design and other relevant software and hardware tools.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Under close supervision, performs routine tasks requiring knowledge offundamental engineering, mathematical and construction concepts.Provides support to engineers, CADD supervisor, or project team in thepreparation of graphic materials, design sketches, study materials andpermit applications.
