Job summary

Parkhill, a leading Southwest architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a part-time, non-exempt Civil Engineering student intern in Texas to support engineers and the project team with routine tasks and graphic materials.

You will assist with construction phase services, calculations, takeoffs, basic design work, field data collection, and library maintenance while gaining hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering or a related program.
• Must be a student in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Comfort with basic design concepts and numerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction phase services as directed by project engineer.
• Assist with checking engineering calculations.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates and basic design calculations.
• Assist in preparing marketing proposals.
• Assist in collecting field data and test samples.
• Assist in maintaining the technical library.
• Perform routine filing and document delivery.
• Proficient in computers and CAD software and related tools.

Under close supervision, performs routine tasks requiring knowledge offundamental engineering, mathematical and construction concepts.Provides support to engineers, CADD supervisor, or project team in thepreparation of graphic materials, design sketches, study materials andpermit applications. This is a part-time, non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis.
