Job summary

Bohler’s Rehoboth Beach, DE office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027. Gain hands‑on experience with site design and the complete development process, from concept to construction, alongside engineers and project managers.

You will develop skills using AutoCAD Civil 3D and contribute to real projects, with mentorship and opportunities to observe zoning and field conditions.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Experience the day‑to‑day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
• Enhance technical skills with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept plans, grading plans, stormwater management plans, utility system plans, and soil erosion and sediment control plans.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements.
