Job summary

Bohler Engineering Group in Towson, MD is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience on real site development projects. You will work with engineers, designers and project managers through the complete site development process, from concept to construction, using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will learn to design concept, grading, stormwater, and utility plans, observe field conditions, and contribute to team meetings and process

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred; training provided if not yet proficient).

Responsibilities

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
• Assist design efforts using AutoCAD Civil 3D for concept and grading plans, stormwater and utilities.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate projects.
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and learn the engineering process.
