Job summary

Schnabel invites applications for a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern to support our geotechnical, geostructural, tunnel, and dam engineering projects. You will gain practical experience by applying professional principles under supervision of senior engineers, with a May–August 2027 timeframe.

The role targets students enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering programs who can work both in office and field settings, including outdoor tasks and CAD support.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s program.
• Good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work with direction as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform office and field tasks, including outdoor work.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles and technical methods to real-world problems under supervision.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports.
• Perform structural and geotechnical design calculations for tunnels and underground structures.
