Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) offers Summer 2027 Internships across multiple locations and departments for students pursuing Civil or Geological Engineering. Interns gain hands-on experience in construction materials testing, field observations, and real-world project involvement under mentorship from seasoned professionals.

Participation includes exposure to testing procedures, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and opportunities for leadership development within a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related degree.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.

Pursuing Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering degree
