Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) offers Summer 2027 Internships across multiple locations and departments. Interns gain hands-on experience in construction materials testing, field observations, and cross-disciplinary exposure in geotechnical and environmental projects.

You will work under mentorship with engineers and technicians, participate in real-world projects, and develop practical skills using standard testing procedures in diverse field settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related degree.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Pursuing Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related degree

Valid driver's license
