Job summary

TERRA Engineering, Ltd. in Bolingbrook, IL invites applications for a Summer Intern in Civil Engineering. You will assist in developing design concepts, perform basic analysis, and help prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates using CAD software.

You will work under supervision alongside professionals, gain exposure to field investigations, and develop technical and communication skills while supporting project teams in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a civil engineering program (BS or MS) with junior level or higher.
• GPA of 3.0 or above and solid engineering judgment.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel; CAD software knowledge preferred.
• Ability to engage with professionals at all levels in an engineering setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing design concepts, studies, and options.
• Perform basic analysis and design calculations under supervision.
• Prepare deliverables including plans, specs, reports, and cost estimates using CAD.
• Conduct field investigations and construction admin duties under supervision.
• Support engineering staff and review close-out documents as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients as needed.
