Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Rock Island, IL to support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design. Over 10-12 weeks, you will gain hands-on experience while learning the civil engineering trade beside experienced engineers and consultants.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Prior internship experience in building design consulting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil design work in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and resources.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
