Job summary

SmithGroup invites applications for a Civil Engineering Intern in Ann Arbor. Join our integrated design teams and contribute to site design drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, while performing preliminary design calculations and analysis.

Qualifications

• Completed at least their sophomore year or are graduate standing in a civil engineering program.
• Some experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Working with us, you will:

• Work on integrated design teams with landscape architecture, urban planning, and surveying.
• Develop site design drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Perform preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Compile data and prepare design solutions.
• Assist in editing technical specifications.
• Participate in design meetings.
• Receive mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Visit a construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.

An ideal candidate has:

• Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited civil engineering program by the time of the internship.
• Some experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS and the Microsoft Office Suite.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $24.00 to $25.00per hour, at the time of posting.

You are eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week.

Our 12-week summer internships are held between May-August.
