Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer – Land Development to independently manage smaller projects and collaborate on larger efforts under supervision. You will evaluate and engineer civil systems, perform calculations, and develop 3D models and documents for site plans and details.

The role requires a PE license or eligibility within 6 months, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, and related tools. Collaborative team environment with opportunities across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods.
• Excellent time-management and communication skills.
• Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects of average complexity/size.
• Evaluate, specify, and engineer civil systems for projects.
• Create sketches, models, diagrams, and other visuals.
• Develop 3D models and provide markups for junior staff.
• Prepare site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
• Lead project coordination meetings with teams and clients.
• Assist in scope, budget, staffing, and scheduling.
• Coordinate project specifications with construction documents.
• Perform calculations using standard software and proprietary tools.
• Apply advanced techniques for analysis of civil elements.
• Participate in constructability reviews and QA/QC.
• Contribute to development of new standards and specs.
• Support multiple concurrent projects.
