Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer – Land Development to work independently on smaller projects and as part of a larger team under a senior engineer. You will evaluate, specify, and engineer civil systems, perform calculations, and contribute to field work, with a focus on reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

This role requires strong design software skills (AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS/HMS) and the ability to communicate with clients and authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects of average complexity within budget and schedule.
• Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer civil systems or products for a project.
• Develop designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visuals.
• Create 3D models and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
• Prepare and revise site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and external stakeholders.
• Assist senior engineers with project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
• May lead preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
