Job summary

Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering and infrastructure organization to identify an experienced Civil Engineer IV to lead the design and execution of complex site development, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

This position is ideal for a senior civil engineering professional who enjoys technical leadership, project execution, mentoring engineering teams, and driving the successful delivery of large, multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• PE license preferred.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience on infrastructure/site projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts.
• Strong site development, grading, drainage, and stormwater expertise.
• Knowledge of permitting, regulatory processes, and standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office.
• GIS/MicroStation or hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
• Experience working with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for large-scale infrastructure, industrial, and site development projects.
• Develop and review conceptual studies, feasibility, and design packages.
• Oversee site grading, stormwater, drainage, and utility design.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare engineering reports, studies, specs, and construction docs.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical priorities.
• Support permitting activities and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Provide senior technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and field changes.

This position is ideal for a senior civil engineering professional who enjoys technical leadership, project execution, mentoring engineering teams, and driving the successful delivery of large, multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in site development, drainage, utilities, grading, permitting, and construction support.

What You’ll Do

• Lead civil engineering design efforts for large-scale infrastructure, industrial, utility, and site development projects.
• Develop and review conceptual studies, feasibility analyses, preliminary engineering packages, and detailed design deliverables.
• Design and oversee development of:
• Site grading plans
• Stormwater management systems
• Drainage infrastructure
• Erosion and sediment control plans
• Access roads and site circulation layouts
• Underground utility systems
• Equipment foundations and site structures
• Perform and review engineering calculations related to hydrology, hydraulics, earthwork, utilities, and site development.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical studies, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Lead projects through planning, design, permitting, construction, and project closeout phases.
• Manage engineering deliverables, project schedules, budgets, and technical priorities.
• Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering, environmental, and construction teams.
• Participate in project planning, design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
• Support estimating, proposal development, and project planning activities.
• Provide senior-level technical support during construction and commissioning efforts.
• Review RFIs, contractor submittals, field modifications, and construction documentation.
• Assist with permitting activities and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting professional development and technical growth.
• Contribute to engineering standards, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience supporting infrastructure, industrial, site development, utility, or EPC-related projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering efforts on multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong expertise in:
• Site development design
• Grading and drainage
• Stormwater management
• Utility infrastructure
• Foundation coordination
• Civil construction practices
• Knowledge of permitting requirements, regulatory processes, and applicable engineering standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with GIS platforms, MicroStation, or hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and schedule objectives.
• Experience working directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits, project meetings, and construction support activities.
