Job summary

Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering and infrastructure organization to identify an experienced Civil Engineer IV to lead the design and execution of complex site development, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

This role targets a senior civil engineering professional who thrives on technical leadership, project execution, and mentoring teams while delivering large, multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience supporting infrastructure, site development, utility, or EPC-related projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering efforts on multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong expertise in site development design, grading and drainage, stormwater management, utility infrastructure, foundation coordination, and civil construction practices.
• Knowledge of permitting requirements, regulatory processes, and applicable engineering standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with GIS platforms, MicroStation, or hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and schedule objectives.
• Experience working directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits, project meetings, and construction support activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design efforts for large-scale infrastructure, industrial, utility, and site development projects.
• Develop and review conceptual studies, feasibility analyses, preliminary engineering packages, and detailed design deliverables.
• Design and oversee development of site grading plans, stormwater management systems, drainage infrastructure, erosion and sediment control plans, access roads and site circulation layouts, underground utility systems, and equipment foundations.
• Perform and review engineering calculations related to hydrology, hydraulics, earthwork, utilities, and site development.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical studies, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Lead projects through planning, design, permitting, construction, and project closeout phases.
• Manage engineering deliverables, project schedules, budgets, and technical priorities.
• Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering, environmental, and construction teams.
• Participate in project planning, design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
• Support estimating, proposal development, and project planning activities.
• Provide senior-level technical support during construction and commissioning efforts.
• Review RFIs, contractor submittals, field modifications, and construction documentation.
• Assist with permitting activities and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting professional development and technical growth.
• Contribute to engineering standards, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
