Job summary

Talon Hiring Solutions is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead planning, design, and execution of complex site development and infrastructure projects in the United States.

You will mentor engineering staff, collaborate with stakeholders, and support successful project delivery from concept through construction, traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience supporting infrastructure, industrial, utility, commercial, or large site development projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering efforts on multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design and analysis efforts on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, utility, and site development projects.
• Develop and review conceptual studies, feasibility analyses, preliminary engineering packages, and detailed design deliverables.
• Lead the design and coordination of site grading plans, stormwater management systems, drainage infrastructure, and utility infrastructure.
• Perform and review engineering calculations related to hydrology, hydraulics, earthwork, drainage, grading, and utility infrastructure.
• Develop engineering reports, specifications, technical studies, and construction documentation.
• Mentor engineers and technical staff while contributing to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a growing engineering and infrastructure organization to identify an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of complex site development and infrastructure projects.

This role offers the opportunity to serve as a technical leader on large multidisciplinary projects while mentoring engineering staff, collaborating with project stakeholders, and supporting successful project delivery from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do

• Lead civil engineering design and analysis efforts on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, utility, and site development projects.

• Develop and review conceptual studies, feasibility analyses, preliminary engineering packages, and detailed design deliverables.

• Lead the design and coordination of:

• Site grading plans

• Stormwater management systems

• Drainage infrastructure

• Erosion and sediment control plans

• Roadway and site access improvements

• Underground utility systems

• Foundations and site structures

• Perform and review engineering calculations related to hydrology, hydraulics, earthwork, drainage, grading, and utility infrastructure.

• Develop engineering reports, specifications, technical studies, and construction documentation.

• Lead civil engineering activities throughout project planning, design, permitting, construction, and project closeout.

• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.

• Manage engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, and technical priorities.

• Participate in project planning, design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.

• Support estimating, scope development, and proposal preparation activities.

• Provide technical support during construction, including review of RFIs, submittals, and field modifications.

• Conduct site visits, field assessments, and constructability reviews.

• Assist with permitting efforts and regulatory compliance documentation.

• Mentor engineers and technical staff while contributing to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

• 10+ years of civil engineering experience supporting infrastructure, industrial, utility, commercial, or large site development projects.

• Demonstrated experience leading engineering efforts on multidisciplinary projects.

• Strong expertise in:

• Site development design

• Stormwater management

• Grading and drainage systems

• Utility infrastructure

• Foundation coordination

• Construction support

• Strong understanding of civil engineering codes, industry standards, and permitting requirements.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with GIS platforms, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling software is a plus.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

• Experience mentoring and developing engineering talent.

• Willingness to travel periodically for project meetings, site visits, and construction support activities.
