Job summary

Penn E&R, Inc. is hiring a Civil Engineer (Entry-Level) based in Pittsburgh, PA with hybrid work options. You will work on site and in the field across diverse project scopes including stormwater, land development, and drainage design.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, 0–3 years experience, and EIT is a plus. Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD Civil 3D) and an interest in hydrology and stormwater are helpful. A strong safety mindset is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) license is preferred.
• 0–3 years of civil engineering experience; EIT a plus.
• Hydrology, hydraulics, erosion and sediment controls, stormwater management, and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and stormwater management plans.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulic calculations and drainage analyses.
• Design erosion and sediment controls and post-construction stormwater management BMPs.
• Conduct infiltration testing and related field activities.
• Use AutoCAD/Civil 3D to create 3-D surfaces, grading plans, profiles, pipe networks.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to prepare proposals and communicate with clients.

Penn E&R is seeking a full-timeCivil Engineer(Entry-Level).While youwill bebasedoutof ourPittsburgh, PA office, we offerhybridflexibility.You will have the opportunity to perform a wide range of tasks across all of Penn E&R’s market sectors and be expected to perform both office-based and field-based assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, post-construction stormwater management plans, and land development/subdivision plans.
• Hydrology and hydraulic and drainage calculations.
• Erosion and sediment control design.
• Stormwater management calculations.
• Post-Construction Stormwater Management BMP design.
• Infiltration Testing.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D and standard drafting techniques and applications with experience in the preparation of the following:
  • Creating 3-D surfaces
  • Grading plans
  • Profiles/cross-sections
  • Pipe networks and corridors
• Working with Project Managers to coordinate with clients and prepare proposals.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Engineer In Training license.
• 0 to 3 years of civil engineering experience.
• EIT a plus.
• Schooling and/or work experience in the following is a plus:
  • Hydrology and hydraulics
  • Erosion and sediment controls
  • Stormwater management controls
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
