Job summary

Collective Efforts Llc in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an entry level Civil/Environmental Engineer with up to five years of experience to join our team. You will work in the water resources and transportation fields on major infrastructure projects.

You will contribute to design calculations, field and office assignments, environmental sampling, permit preparation, and technical writing, with flexible work-from-home options available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required or preferred.
  • E.I.T. or willingness to obtain is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team on infrastructure projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for reports and coordination.
  • Experience with field instrumentation and basic surveying concepts are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater systems, municipal water, sewer, stormwater, highway, bridge, roadway, and airport projects
  • Field and office assignments
  • Conduct environmental sampling and reporting
  • Prepare permit applications for PADEP, Army Corps, PennDOT, and City of Pittsburgh
  • Technical writing
  • Conduct construction inspections

  • Experience with site grading, site design and associated permitting
  • HEC-RAS, HydroCAD or other water resource-related programs experience
  • GIS experience a plus
  • Fluent with Microsoft, Word, and Excel
