Job summary

City of Atlanta seeks an experienced Training Manager to oversee APD Leadership Institute training and development initiatives. You will lead a team responsible for APD training materials, professional development, certification programs, and the creation of promotional media for the department.

The role requires coordinating staff training, supervising facilitators and instructional designers, and partnering with organizational leadership to drive citywide development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and eight (8) years related work experience.
• Knowledge of training, organizational development, and adult learning theories.
• Experience building and managing training programs and content.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, deliver, and assess training and development programs for City managers and employees.
• Collaborate with HR to align organizational development programs with strategies.
• Develop content and materials for staff training and potentially conduct courses.
• Consult with management on performance and leadership matters; conduct needs assessments.
• Identify leadership development needs and implement new programs citywide.
• Manage social media presence and media materials for department and platforms.
• Track mandatory trainings using LMS and upload data to Oracle.
